Władysław Klimczak (ur. 6 marca 1923 w Solcu Kujawskim, zm. 9 kwietnia 2021 w Wiśniowej, został pochowany na Cmentarzu Salwatorskim w Krakowie) – fotograf, fotoreporter, historyk, muzealnik uhonorowany tytułem Excellence FIAP for Services Rendered (ESFIAP). Inicjator i współtwórca Muzeum Fotografii w Krakowie. Członek Photographic Society of America. Członek Zarządu Krakowskiego Towarzystwa Fotograficznego. Wykładowca Państwowej Szkoły Przemysłowej im. Sz. Humberta w Krakowie.
Był absolwentem Wyższej Szkole Ekonomicznej w Krakowie oraz Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego (Wydział Historyczno-Filozoficzny). W 1960 rozpoczął współpracę z „Dziennikiem Polskim”. Związany z krakowskim środowiskiem fotograficznym – był członkiem Krakowskiego Towarzystwa Fotograficznego, w którym od 1961 pełnił funkcję prezesa Zarządu KTF. Był autorem oraz współautorem wystaw historycznych, w ramach działalności Krakowskiego Towarzystwa Fotograficznego był organizatorem, współorganizatorem oraz komisarzem wielu wystaw fotograficznych. W 1970 był inicjatorem i współorganizatorem cyklicznych wystaw aktu i portretu kobiecego – Venus w Krakowie.
W 1972 objął funkcję dyrektora Muzeum Fotografii im. Władysława Bogackiego w Krakowie, funkcjonującego w ramach działalności KTF. W 1986 był inicjatorem oraz współzałożycielem Muzeum Fotografii w Krakowie, w którym od początku istnienia do 1990 roku był dyrektorem placówki. Był współautorem książki Legiony Polskie, wydanej w 1990 przez wydawnictwo Bellona.
„…Z Władysławem Klimczakiem spotkałem się 16 września 1988 r. w Muzeum Fotografii w Krakowie. Z jego inicjatywy, w 1986 roku powołano pierwsze i jedyne w Polsce publiczne muzeum fotografii, zajmujące się wyłącznie tym medium. Skupiając wokół siebie profesjonalistów i pasjonatów stworzył prężnie działające Muzeum. Aktywnie pracował, budując pierwsze muzealne kolekcje: fotografii, sprzętu fotograficznego, książek i dokumentów archiwalnych. Muszę powiedzieć, że byłem pod wielkim wrażeniem co i ile zebrał. Oprócz tego Władysław Klimczak to „Człowiek, który stworzył „Venus” tak pisał o nim legendarny „Przekrój” (1996) …” – Czesław Czapliński.
Pierwsza wystawa kobiecego aktu i portretu "Venus" odbyła się w Krakowie w 1970 r. (ostatnia w 1991 r.). Jej sukces sprawił, że od roku następnego impreza stała się międzynarodowa. W konkursach brały udział tysiące najlepszych fotografików z wielu krajów świata. Do galerii KTF przy ul. Bohaterów Stalingradu 13 (dziś Starowiślna) ustawiały się długie kolejki. Organizatorów oskarżano o szerzenie pornografii, a na wystawy włamywali się złodzieje, by kraść fotogramy.
Był laureatem nagród m.in.: uhonorowany tytułem Excellence FIAP for Services Rendered (ESFIAP) przez Międzynarodową Federację Sztuki Fotograficznej FIAP oraz Pucharem Willy Hengl Preis.
Odznaczenia m.in.: Medal 20-lecia Muzeum Historii Fotografii w Krakowie (2006); Odznaka „Honoris Gratia” (2013).

He was a graduate of the Higher School of Economics in Kraków and the Jagiellonian University (Faculty of History and Philosophy). In 1960, he began working with "Dziennik Polski". Associated with the Krakow photographic community - he was a member of the Krakow Photographic Society, in which from 1961 he served as the president of the KTF Management Board. He was the author and co-author of historical exhibitions, and as part of the activities of the Krakow Photographic Society, he was the organizer, co-organizer and commissioner of many photographic exhibitions. In 1970, he was the initiator and co-organizer of cyclical exhibitions of female nudes and portraits - Venus in Krakow.
In 1972, he became the director of the Museum of Photography. Władysław Bogacki in Kraków, operating as part of the KTF. In 1986, he was the initiator and co-founder of the Museum of Photography in Krakow, where from the beginning of its existence until 1990 he was the director of the facility. He was co-author of the book Legiony Polskie, published in 1990 by the Bellona publishing house.
“…I met Władysław Klimczak on September 16, 1988 at the Museum of Photography in Krakow. On his initiative, in 1986, the first and only public museum of photography in Poland, dealing exclusively with this medium, was established. By gathering professionals and enthusiasts around him, he created a dynamically operating Museum. He actively worked to build the first museum collections: photographs, photographic equipment, books and archival documents. I must say that I was very impressed with what and how much he collected. In addition, Władysław Klimczak is "The man who created "Venus", as the legendary "Przekrój" wrote about him (1996) ..." - Czesław Czapliński.
The first exhibition of the female nude and portrait "Venus" took place in Krakow in 1970 (the last one in 1991). Its success made the event international the following year. Thousands of the best photographers from many countries around the world took part in the competitions. To the KTF gallery at ul. There were long queues at Bohaterów Stalingradu 13 (today Starowiślna). The organizers were accused of spreading pornography, and thieves broke into exhibitions to steal photograms.
He has won awards including: the Excellence FIAP for Services Rendered (ESFIAP) title by the International Federation of Photographic Art FIAP and the Willy Hengl Preis Cup.
Awards include: Medal of the 20th Anniversary of the Museum of the History of Photography in Krakow (2006); "Honoris Gratia" badge (2013).
