Tomasz Antoni Wierzejski (ur. 13 grudnia 1953 r.) w Warszawie – fotograf, działacz opozycji w okresie PRL.

Absolwent historii filozofii na Akademii Teologii Katolickiej w Warszawie, ukończył również podyplomowe studium fotografii naukowej na Uniwersytecie Warszawskim. Działał w opozycji demokratycznej, wraz z żoną Agnieszką Wierzejską zajmował się dystrybucją wydawnictw drugiego obiegu. W 1979 w swoim mieszkaniu założyli skład publikacji podziemnych Niezależnej Oficyny Wydawniczej. Tomasz Wierzejski był współzałożycielem i kierował Niezależną Agencją Fotograficzną FotoNOWA, której członkowie zajmowali się gromadzeniem i wydawaniem dokumentacji fotograficznej w ramach zestawów tematycznych. W 1989 Tomasz Wierzejski jako fotograf dołączył do zespołu redakcyjnego „Gazety Wyborczej”, z którą był związany do 1993. Później został redaktorem naczelnym i współwłaścicielem Agencji Prasowej FOTONOVA.

Etatowy fotoreporter “Gazety Wyborczej” w latach 1989–1993. Osobisty fotograf premiera Tadeusza Mazowieckiego w czasie kampanii prezydenckiej 1990 roku. Sfotografował przełom polityczny w Polsce w latach 1989–1993. Jest autorem wielu zdjęć, które stały się ikonami tamtych czasów. Odbył z aparatem fotograficznym wiele podróży po świecie, między innymi na Borneo (1988), do Kambodży (1989), do Albanii (1991), do Afryki (1990-91) i (1999), na Reunion, Mayotte i Mauritius (1996). Fotografuje polskie Kresy na Litwie i Ukrainie. Był uczestnikiem corocznych spotkań w ramach Dialogu Dwóch Kultur na Ukrainie.

Członek Związku Polskich Artystów Fotografików od 1993 roku. Jest autorem i kuratorem wystaw fotograficznych indywidualnych i zbiorowych. Jego zdjęcia są publikowane w książkach i w prasie.

W latach 2000–2004 był fotoedytorem w dwutygodniku „Viva”. Prowadził zajęcia ze studentami na temat fotografii w Warszawskiej Szkole Filmowej i uczył fotografii w Publicznym Ognisku Plastycznym im. Jana Skotnickiego w Grodzisku Mazowieckim.

Był jurorem w konkursach fotograficznych BZ WBK Press Foto 2012 i Grand Press Photo 2012

Obecnie jest właścicielem i redaktorem naczelnym Agencji Prasowej FOTONOVA. Jego pasją jest wyszukiwanie fotografii archiwalnych i przywracanie ich kulturze narodowej. Opracował wiele takich zbiorów. Wśród nich są również archiwa fotograficzne Muzeum im. Anny i Jarosława Iwaszkiewiczów w Stawisku. Jest pomysłodawcą i konsultantem książki „Będę to fotografował w kolorach - początek XX wieku na trójwymiarowych zdjęciach Stanisława Wilhelma Lilpopa’’, wydanej w 2013 roku przez Dom Spotkań z Historią.

Jest kolekcjonerem sztuki, szczególnie malarstwa. Od 2016 roku zajmuje się malarstwem sztalugowym. Brał udział w malarskich plenerach, miał kilka wystaw indywidualnych i zbiorowych.

W 2011 odznaczony Krzyżem Oficerskim Orderu Odrodzenia Polski. Wyróżniony także odznaką Zasłużony Działacz Kultury w 2001.

Tomasz Antoni Wierzejski (born December 13, 1953, in Warsaw) is a photographer and opposition activist during the communist era in Poland.

He graduated in the history of philosophy from the Academy of Catholic Theology in Warsaw and also completed postgraduate studies in scientific photography at University of Warsaw. He was active in the democratic opposition and, together with his wife Agnieszka Wierzejska, distributed underground publications. In 1979, they established a distribution center for underground publications of the Independent Publishing House in their apartment. Tomasz Wierzejski co-founded and managed the independent photographic agency FotoNOWA, whose members focused on collecting and publishing photographic documentation in thematic sets.

In 1989, Tomasz Wierzejski joined the editorial team of Gazeta Wyborcza as a photographer and remained associated with the newspaper until 1993. He later became editor-in-chief and co-owner of the FOTONOVA Press Agency.

He worked as a staff photojournalist for Gazeta Wyborcza from 1989 to 1993. He was the personal photographer of Prime Minister Tadeusz Mazowiecki during the 1990 presidential campaign. He documented Poland’s political transformation between 1989 and 1993 and is the author of many photographs that became iconic images of that era.

With his camera, he traveled extensively around the world, including trips to Borneo (1988), Cambodia (1989), Albania (1991), Africa (1990–91 and 1999), and the islands of Réunion, Mayotte, and Mauritius (1996). He also photographs the historic Polish borderlands in Lithuania and Ukraine. He participated in the annual meetings of the Dialogue of Two Cultures held in Ukraine.

He has been a member of the Association of Polish Art Photographers since 1993.

He is the author and curator of both individual and group photography exhibitions. His photographs have been published in books and the press.

From 2000 to 2004, he worked as a photo editor for the biweekly magazine Viva. He taught photography classes for students at the Warsaw Film School and also taught photography at the Jan Skotnicki Public Art Center in Grodzisk Mazowiecki.

He served as a juror in the photography competitions BZ WBK Press Foto 2012 and Grand Press Photo 2012.

Currently, he is the owner and editor-in-chief of the FOTONOVA Press Agency. His passion is searching for archival photographs and restoring them to the national cultural heritage. He has developed many such collections, including the photographic archives of the Anna and Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz Museum in Stawisko. He was also the originator and consultant of the book “I Will Photograph It in Colors – The Beginning of the 20th Century in the Three-Dimensional Photographs of Stanisław Wilhelm Lilpop”, published in 2013 by the History Meeting House.

He is an art collector, particularly interested in painting. Since 2016, he has been engaged in easel painting. He has participated in painting plein-air workshops and has held several individual and group exhibitions.

In 2011, he was awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. He was also honored with the Distinguished Cultural Activist badge in 2001.
