PORTRET z HISTORIĄ Dariusz Pala

Dariusz Pala (ur. 1967 w Częstochowie) artysta malarz, grafik, rzeźbiarz, twórca przestrzennych instalacji.

W latach 1982–1987 Pala uczęszczał do Liceum Plastycznego im. J. Malczewskiego w Częstochowie. Studiował na krakowskiej ASP na wydziale grafiki-litografii u prof. Romana Żygulskiego. Dyplom uzyskał 1992 roku.

W 2015 roku obronił doktorat na Wydziale Artystycznym Uniwersytetu Kazimierza Pułaskiego (Uniwersytet Technologiczno-Humanistyczny im. Kazimierza Pułaskiego) w Radomiu pod kierunkiem Anny Wojdały-Markowskiej (1964) na temat wpływu możliwości projektowania malarskiego na przestrzenną formę dzieła sztuki (Wpływ środków malarskich na postać przestrzenną dzieła sztuki).

W 1993 zamieszkał w Warszawie, gdzie związał się z Galerią ART. W 1998 wyjechał do Stanów Zjednoczonych, skąd powrócił w 2009.

Maluje kompozycje figuralne, martwe natury, abstrakcje, a także tworzy formprzestrzenne z drewna, pleksi, metalu. Cechą rozpoznawczą jego sztuki są mocne kontrastowe kolory, najchętniej trzy podstawowe. Na tej właśnie triadzie zbudował charakterystyczną estetykę swych obrazów. Dominujące niegdyś anegdotyczne sceny rodzajowe, ostatnio wypierane są przez prostsze, zmierzające ku abstrakcji, obrazy i monotypie. Powstające nadal martwe natury nie podległy aż tak dalekim zmianom.

Pala maluje kompozycje figuralne i martwe natury, a także tworzy rzeźby z drewna, pleksiglasu i metalu. Jego twórczość charakteryzuje się silnie kontrastowymi barwami, bazującymi na trzech barwach podstawowych. Ta triada nadaje obrazom charakterystyczną estetykę. Początkowo przedstawiał pozornie anegdotyczne sceny rodzajowe, później jego prace składają się z bardziej oszczędnych obrazów, zmierzających w stronę abstrakcji.

„…Darka Pale fotografowałem 7 sierpnia 2025 r. na wystawie pt. „Ogród za domem” w Warszawie, o której pisał: „Powiedzmy, że każdy człowiek ma prawo do wyrażania własnych myśli. Powiedzmy, że ma też szansę wybrać sposób życia i środki wyrazu za tym idące. Jak młody chłopak wierny własnej intuicji podjęłem decyzję, dzięki którym jestem dzisiaj artystą malarzem, tłumaczącym język świata na swój własny. Mam tylko nadzieję, że jest on zrozumiały dla innych ludzi.

Moje malarstwo to otaczające nas życie. Wszystko może być dla mnie inspiracją, jednak czas i doświadczenia zmieniają fokus moich zainteresowań. Jedyne, co jest niezmienne, to czasami trudna, ale najczystrza dziecięcość, która jest siłą kreacji. Wszystkie miłości i nienawiści, smutki pocięte śmiechem do łez, zachwyty i lęki wymieszane z farbami to najlepsze definicja mojego malarstwa, które traktuję jako największe spełnienie w moim życiu…”

PORTRAIT with HISTORY Darek Pala

Dariusz Pala (born 1967 in Częstochowa) is a painter, graphic artist, sculptor, and creator of spatial installations.

From 1982 to 1987, Pala attended the J. Malczewski Art High School in Częstochowa. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, in the Department of Graphic Arts-Lithography, under Professor Roman Żygulski. He graduated in 1992. In 2015, he defended his doctorate at the Faculty of Arts of the Kazimierz Pułaski University (University of Technology and Humanities) in Radom, under the supervision of Anna Wojdała-Markowska (1964), on the subject of the influence of painterly design on the spatial form of a work of art ("The Influence of Painterly Means on the Spatial Form of a Work of Art").

In 1993, he moved to Warsaw, where he became associated with the ART Gallery. In 1998 he moved to the United States and returned in 2009.

He paints figurative compositions, still lifes, abstractions, and also creates spatial forms in wood, Plexiglas, and metal. A hallmark of his art is strong contrasting colors, preferably the three primary colors. It is on this triad that he built the characteristic aesthetic of his paintings. The once dominant anecdotal genre scenes have recently been replaced by simpler, abstract paintings and monotypes. His still lifes, which continue to emerge, have not undergone such significant changes.

Pala paints figurative compositions and still lifes, and also creates sculptures in wood, Plexiglas, and metal. His work is characterized by strongly contrasting colors, based on the three primary colors. This triad gives his paintings a distinctive aesthetic. Initially, he depicted seemingly anecdotal genre scenes, but later his works consist of more understated paintings, tending towards abstraction.

Let's say that they also have the opportunity to choose their way of life and the means of expression that go with it. Like a young boy, faithful to his own intuition, I made decisions that made me a painter today, translating the language of the world into my own. I only hope that it is understandable to others.

My painting is the life around us. Everything can be an inspiration to me, but time and experiences change the focus of my interests. The only thing that remains constant is the sometimes difficult, yet purest, childishness, which is the power of creation. All the loves and hates, sorrows cut through with laughter to tears, delights and fears mixed with paints are the best definition of my painting, which I consider the greatest fulfillment in my life..." .
